    This listing is for a heavy, long reach Madison Industries model 2236-003-02875 Boring Head Shank.
    This shank is for use with boring insert holders for cutting bores from 2-7/8" diameter and larger - depending on the boring bar you add, this shank could be used for boring up to a much larger [unknown] maximum diameter.

    The receptacle on this tool where your boring bar is held has a maximum dimension of approximately .640" x .750".  This can hold boring bars with either a square or rectangular cross section, or a round bar with flats (a boring bar is not included).
    This shank design secures the boring bar by clamping pressure from a pin that is pushed out against the flank of the bar from inside the shank. The pin presses the installed bar outward to press it against the outer ledge of the receptacle area. The pin is pushed out by tightening a wedge screw. When the position and resulting cutting radius of the insert holding bar has been set, the wedge screw and clamping pin are secured by a set screw.
    Vee-blocks appearing in the photos are not included.
