Description
One vintage Browning Medallion recurve from the mid-1960's. RH, 64", 50#, Serial # 3H23 - a pretty low number. I can't tell if it's 1963 through 1967 from looking at the catalogs. Perhaps you experts can give us the year by the serial # or pictures.Beautiful riser of possible zebrawood without scratches or dents. Limbs straight and tips intact. Tips have an interesting continuation of the string groove out to the tip making it heart-shaped. I've not seen that on other bows and I don't know why. Face glass is ivory-colored and without scratches. Backing glass is deep red, and has faint horizontal crazing above the fadeouts and some vertical stress lines over the riser.
While this is a Collector's-quality piece, it is also quite a functional bow. Long enough for any height archer. Heavy enough for hunting, but maybe only two rounds on the range. A good transition bow from compounds unless you are a weakling.
For Browning fans, or fans of Wing Archery, Bear Archery, or Hoyt Archery who want to diversify a little.
For target archery, bowhunting, bowfishing, and 3D archery.
